About Dr. Kate Ferguson ND

I built my practice for the women who’ve been told “your labs are normal” while feeling anything but.

I was a teenager when I was told I had PCOS. The appointment lasted maybe five minutes. “You’ll likely struggle to get pregnant, you need to lose weight. Any questions?” I said no, went to my car, and cried. I was convinced I would never be a mom, and I carried this overwhelming shame that my weight had somehow caused my PCOS.

I spent years trying everything the internet recommended.  Keto, intermittent fasting, gluten-free, dairy-free and handfuls of supplements. Most of it either didn’t work or wasn’t something I could actually sustain.

The worst part wasn’t that these approaches failed , it was that I blamed myself every time they did.

It wasn’t until I took my health into my own hands and eventually became a Naturopathic Doctor, that I found what actually works.

Not extremes. Not restriction. Not a cabinet full of supplements. But a sustainable, evidence-based approach built on the foundations that carry you through every stage of hormonal life.

How I think about care.

I was actually embarrassed to call myself a Naturopathic Doctor early in my career. The title came with an association I didn’t want such as pseudoscience, detoxes, being anti-modern-medicine. That was never the vision. I wanted an impactful career where I could spend real time with patients, understand them as whole people, and approach their care with both lifestyle medicine and appropriate medical investigation.

In my practice, we don’t shy away from modern medicine, we integrate it.

I recommend HRT when it’s indicated. I refer to specialists. I use standardized blood work through LifeLabs (not trendy functional panels). I celebrate laser hair removal alongside lifestyle strategies.

You shouldn’t have to choose between science-backed medicine and care that actually takes the time to understand you... you can have both.

The diagnosis that took 14 years.

I live with PMDD , premenstrual dysphoric disorder. It took 14 years and countless health professionals before someone finally asked about the timing of my symptoms. I was misdiagnosed with anxiety and depression for years. And I know I’m not alone in that.

It takes 12–20 years on average for a PMDD diagnosis. That’s 12–20 years of debilitating symptoms that make it nearly impossible to show up in your life before someone connects the dots.

My experience with PMDD and PCOS doesn’t make me the best person to help you simply because I’ve been there. What it gives me is a unique empathy for what you might be going through and a deep understanding that your experience is completely unique to you, even if the condition has the same name.

Get to know Dr. Kate

I limit my coffee after 12pm so my sleep doesn’t suffer. But before noon? Non-negotiable. Hello, joy.

Coffee Enthusiast (With a Cutoff)

I schedule everything else around my workouts and walks — not the other way around. CrossFit, strength training, and daily walks keep me grounded.

The Gym Is Non-Negotiable

I’ve learned the hard way that busy doesn’t equal effective. If it’s not a hell yes, it’s a no. My family deserves the best version of me, not the leftover version.

Recovering Over-Committer

I take two supplements consistently (inositol and creatine) and forget my iron and vitamin D. I eat the same meals Monday through Thursday. I don’t drink alcohol. I’m not perfect — I’m just really consistent with the things that matter.

The Person Behind the Inbox

When you reach out, you’ll hear from Randi , my virtual assistant and the person who keeps this practice running smoothly. She handles scheduling, answers your questions before you book, and makes sure you feel taken care of from the very first email.

If any of that resonated, I’d love to work together.

You don’t need to have it all figured out before you book. That’s what the first visit is for.
